Sometimes you need to change the creation date, last modified date, and last accessed date of your files or folders, for whatever reason. Unfortunately, you can not change them on your computer without some free software help. Some software is malware so be careful when downloading any software. I use Web of Trust as my first warning of a malicious website. Don't forget to always scan any executable file that you download with your antivirus before you install it to protect your computer
I found that Set File Date 2.0 works well and is free of malware. Quick and easy to use. Find your file(s), select them, then change whichever date to the one you want.
Note that on the default settings above, that the Date Created, Date Modified, and the Date Accessed are all check, so which ever date you select will replace them. In the case of a pdf this is fine, however with a document file that gets modified many times, you will have to change them individually. The clock is in military or 24 hours time. The program will not update its folder view with the new date, so double check the file properties when you are done.
