Logitech Replacement Batteries

Logitech MX800 Mouse and Keyboard
About a month ago I went to use my Logitech wireless keyboard and the light was blinking red when I tried to charge it. I found out that it meant the rechargeable batteries weren't good anymore. A few days ago, my mouse was dead all of a sudden and it too started to blink red when charging. So it was time to do research to figure out what were the appropriate batteries to get as a replacement. Boy, how rechargeables have changed. The two devices were purchased at the same time so it isn't too surprising the batteries failed pretty much at the same time.

Blog Tips: Open Link in New Window

When blogging, it can be important that when a visitor clocks on a link, it opens in another window. This way your visitors can see what you are referring to, yet they can continue to browse your blog. This can also increase your amount of pageviews. The HTML code is quite simple to add if your blog site doesn't have a box to check. The code is as follows:

 target="blank"

The code for a link is quite simple. The <a href designates the link command following by the link. The text after the carrot > is the text to display and the </a> closes the command.

<a href="http://mybraindownloaded.blogspot.com/">My Brain Downloaded</a>

In order to open a link in a new window, insert this code within the link code before the carrot > closing the link reference.

<a href="http://mybraindownloaded.blogspot.com/" target="blank">My Brain Downloaded</a>

How to Change a File or Folder Last Modified Date, Creation Date, and Last Accessed Date

Sometimes you need to change the creation date, last modified date, and last accessed date of your files or folders, for whatever reason. Unfortunately, you can not change them on your computer without some free software help. Some software is malware so be careful when downloading any software. I use Web of Trust as my first warning of a malicious website. Don't forget to always scan any executable file that you download with your antivirus before you install it to protect your computer

I found that Set File Date 2.0 works well and is free of malware. Quick and easy to use. Find your file(s), select them, then change whichever date to the one you want.

SetFileDate 2.0

Note that on the default settings above, that the Date Created, Date Modified, and the Date Accessed are all check, so which ever date you select will replace them. In the case of a pdf this is fine, however with a document file that gets modified many times, you will have to change them individually. The clock is in military or 24 hours time. The program will not update its folder view with the new date, so double check the file properties when you are done.

It uses a simple rating system of green, orange and red that easily lets you know how the website ranks before you click. You do not need to register to use the application and you can help keep the internet safe by rating different sites you end up surfing. Solutions to Your Home's "Phantom Current Load"

Plug The likely culprit resulting in 'phantom current loads' in the home are electronics. When a TV or monitor are plugged in they are in standby mode requiring some electricity. These devices, as well as any chargers you might have are always on, even if the device is off or not charging resulting in the phantom current load or current load leakage. Electronics are dc not ac and thus requite a transformer to lower the voltage from 120 to around 9V and they all have one. Stereos, DVD players, printers, etc. all contain transformers and as a result are on even while they're off.  Standby mode on devices implies that a small current passes through a device to allow it to be turned on by a remote, so if it gets turned on by a remote, it is costing you money even when it is 'off.'
